Then on Friday Steve and I are headed to Blackfoot, Idaho early in the morning to make another meal for his children and have another day of Thanksgiving fun! It should be a nice beginning to a great holiday season!

Sadie, Sadie, married lady!

So, I am re-married. I married Steven G. Barton on September 30, 2010. He was born and raised in Blackfoot, Idaho, has one son and three daughters, all married and 12 grandchildren. So, that means I have 6 children, 4 step-children, and 6 son-in-laws, and 4 daughter-in-laws, and 25 1/2 grandchildren! Now that's what I call a family. In fact, most of the were at the wedding and I am going to post some pictures of the whole group as well as just some fun ones from the day. It was the most beautiful day. Almost 80 degrees; bright blue skies, green lush grass, flowers in bloom and all was right with the world. Mom and Dad's yard could not have been more beautiful. There were nearly 120 family and friends there. Just brothers, sisters, in-laws, and grandchildren and some close friends.

I shouldn't omit my two work friends who felt so badly that I didn't have any bridesmaids that they came as my unofficial bridesmaids and dressed alike. It was way fun and my girls said it was the best part of the wedding! Yes, they are crazy/fun/silly/adorable friends that make me laugh a lot at work!!!! You've got to have some of these to make work a good place to go!!!!!!

It's been over five weeks and I am more than happy. He is so kind and thoughtful with me. He brings me flowers often and thinks I'm smart and beautiful - well, if I can keep him believing my life is going to be great!

Yesterday, Nov. 11, 2010 was his 62nd birthday and we went to Los Hermanos in Lindon for dinner. His brother Bruce and wife Kayle joined us (I adore them), and DG, Kam, Keisha, Taiia, Ava, Breck, Matt, Austin all joined in the celebration. I know it wasn't perfect because his own children were not there, but it was good and they are learning to appreciate him as well.

I did make my first "new-wife" mistake though. I just assumed he loved carrot cake. Why? Not sure except I thought I remembered him saying he loved it at our wedding. So I busily made one for him and added lots of nuts (cause he loves nuts), and chocolate chips (I suppose because I love them). Then I found out he didn't love chocolate chips in his cakes - no-no; and Angel Food cake with strawberries and cream are his favorite cake. Rule #1. Never assume without asking. I did have time to make a second carrot cake without chocolate chips and he ate 2 big pieces of it, so maybe - just maybe I did ok afterall. I will make an angel food cake soon though.

Well, enjoy the pictures and for now - it's happily ever after.

A New Season

There is a lot to say about the changing of the Seasons. I pretty much love them all, but Spring is definitely my favorite simply because it means the warmth of summer is on it's way, water parks, and eventually Lake Powell. This summer has taken on wings and flown by. I reveled in the warmth, the heat, the water, the sun, and my new best friend.

I finally took the challenge by friends and family and decided to put my "profile" on LDSsingles.com. This was something I was never, ever going to do. My sweet daughter-in-law, Keisha, and I took the challenge to absolutely be entertained by it. And trust me, it was entertaining. I sent "flirts", received "flirts". Now they are the absolutely craziest things ever invented. They really mean nothing other than someone clicked on a button to say, "I'm interested", "I like your profile", "I think you're cute", etc. I rarely responded back to any of them, but often looked at the person's profile only to find that they were 20 years my younger, or 20 years my senior. As that continued to happen, I realized that men my age were simply not interested in a woman the same age as them, and they all wanted someone either younger to grow old with, or older to support them! Truly! I was drawn to the men who had identified themselves as "widowers", feeling I would have something in common with them, but rarely did.

Then I got a message from a widower who simply asked "When you travel, where do you go?" I thought that unusually strange for someone to be asking a normal question instead of asking me to "jet away to some exotic place with them". I responded and so it began. For two months I found myself writing to a new friend that actually wrote simple things, asked basic questions and that I felt was a "real" person. I told Keisha once that I felt this was a very "wounded" man and had loved his wife deeply. He was not putting himself "out there" so to speak, and that I could honestly be his friend.

The week before Independence Day holiday he asked what I was doing for the holiday. I told him I had a daughter born on July 4th and she usually came down for that weekend, but I was going to surprise her and go to her house this year. He said he only lived 30 minutes away and asked if I'd like to meet. (absolutely not) I'm sure you can guess that I did! We meet at the Green Belt walking path next to the Idaho Falls Temple on Saturday, July 3rd at 8:30am in the morning. Remember, I'm no fool! They were setting up for the fireworks for that night and people were all around laying out blankets, and roping off sections of grass to sit on later that night. I was nervous, but not stupid!

We walked and talked for nearly 3 hours. I left knowing I had met a really good man - not knowing if I'd hear from him again, or really if I wanted to, only that I had been brave, and meet someone blindly and it hadn't been a disaster at all!

Getting Married

Wow has my life taken some interesting turns the past couple months. I meet a wonderful man online from Blackfoot, Idaho (Steve Barton) and we are engaged to be married on September 30th, 2010. I could not be more surprised at how quickly this has unfolded and how wonderful it is to have a good man in my life. The kids are all good, though some quieter than others. Breck just needs to know facts/details. Kimberlee doesn't really want to talk about it. Mattie is talkative and excited with me. Breck says that's what we have Mattie for anyway. Mac and Kam are being just great and openly welcoming him. DG is so busy I'm not too sure what he is thinking other than he has told the kids that this is a good thing.

I'm furiously making arrangements and trying to keep it simple and nice. It will be in my parents yard in Centerville and that in and of itself will be beautiful. And that is it in a nutshell for now.

Construction

It's only Tuesday at the BYU Marriott Center and I am already about to abandon ship! Just when the beautiful days of summer arrive, the flowers out front are fully blooming, the birds are chirping and I'm loving the heat - someone decides to start construction on/around/outside/thru or everywhere in the Marriott Center. The jackhammers are the most annoying and seemingly endless pounding. The tractors drive over all the flowers, dust flies, and smelly workers walk in and out of my office trailing white dust along the way. I've worked here for 11 years and I'm pretty sure I've had one or two without construction. My throat is full of dust, cough-cough! It's going to be a long, long, noisy summer!

Ride with Mac

sometimes a mother just has to spend a little time with her grown kids. Mac has been in Phoenix for over two months and had some time adjustments so he decided to come home for two weeks. I found out late last night that he was driving home today, so I took advantage of my flight benefits, hopped on a plane and flew to Vegas. Thought I'd walk to a hotel till he got there - but let it be known that there is no walking anywhere from that airport. As hard as I tried, I could find no where to walk. No sidewalks, no lawns, just big cars, limos, taxis, buses and shuttles, and caes, cars, cars. So I paid $6 and took a shuttle to the MGM Grand where I ate the buffet by myself. When no one is watching, people do strange things like eat only the fried shrimp, tempura broccoli and cauliflower a piece of prime rib, and 2 ice cream cones, a tiny tart, a tiny cheese cake, a tiny chocolate thingy, a tiny creme broile, and a couple more tiny things. Then I took a stroll over to the lions where all was quiet. So I sat down and watched people for a litle while, got the call, ran out the front door into 112 degrees, and hustled down the street past the fence, and jumped into Mac's car! So great to see my "baby" boy. LOL. Then to I15 and headed home. Traffic came to a stop between St. George for ten miles- 1 1/2 hours later moving along again. Love summer road construction. He talked airplanes, passing flight checks, getting more hours flying, his goals, taking the instructor training in Vegas in a couple weeks, etc. Wow, he's grown up and so responsible, makes a mother proud. He's singing along with Toby Keith, and I'm smiling. It was so worth it. We won't get home till nearly midnight... What a great day!

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 130px; height: 98px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_8sqLJ3dVdBw/TBfggA2HHdI/AAAAAAAAAEk/EMuF8O2ybpw/s400/31246_1389794676395_1577946909_912322_4614856_s.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5483097911934262738" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 130px; height: 98px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_8sqLJ3dVdBw/TBfgfsiWnnI/AAAAAAAAAEc/UU56mTk_kdI/s400/31246_1389794596393_1577946909_912320_8129728_s.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5483097906482683506" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 130px; height: 98px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_8sqLJ3dVdBw/TBfgeR4odLI/AAAAAAAAAEU/_Kajt2QnIGk/s400/31246_1389794436389_1577946909_912317_1143758_s.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5483097882148500658" />

Family Reunion (Fullmer/Poulson) June 2010

Well, family reunion time is on! Went to the first one last Saturday. Oak City Canyon. If you don't know where that is, don't feel bad, neither did I. It's just East of Delta. Yes, there is a small, mountain range there. Went through Nephi, then West to Lemmington, then South through Fools Creek into Oak City. Then East up the Canyon. Got that? Here we huddled under a small pavilion while it rained and ate "pot luck" - 5 or 6 different types of potato salads was the potluck of choice this time. There were a couple pasta salads, hot dogs or hamburgers, and chocolate or caramel cake. There are only two living Fullmer sisters left and no brothers. Kathleen (known as Aunt Katie), and Marilyn (known as Aunt Merk). They are still lively and fun and so worth visiting with. Then a lot of cousins come. The highlight for me was visiting with my cousin Keith Fullmer, living now in Denver and his brother Owen, living in Washington. They drove or flew - what troopers! Here's a story for you. Keith was my "kissin cousin". My children will all say "gross", but we played kissing tag at my grandmother Fullmer's house when we were about 5 or 6. You know, the game you run away fast to get away from the boy chasing you so you don't get kissed. Well, I think I ran then slowed down cause I thought Keith was worth kissing. Hmmm! Enough of that. After lunch I ran to the car, turned on the heater full blast and tried to warm up. There Dad and Keith joined me and we had a good visit. Now for the good part. The auction begins. We bought tickets for raffle items. I won a Kleenex holder my mother (Aunt Merk) made, and two dishes of homemade candy (also my mother made), so I passed out candy and let a cousin take the Kleenex holder. Then.... the name cards were passed out. These are hand written names (details of names later), stuck on straws to hold up when you want to bid on something. These signs are kept and brought back year after year (to some's dismay). Aunt Merk had made two blankets, and a baby blanket. Cousin Jill Tennant Brown made a large blanket (red with millions of dogs - cute), Aunt Katie made a blanket that Owen really wanted to put on his "man bed", and Owen made a large box (jewelry, tool, misc) - really nice though, oh and cousin Lyle made some black metal signs that were really cool to hang on front doors that said welcome etc. Those were the "HOT" items and the bidding war began. Now for the signs... you would only find these at this particular reunion and cousin Kenny Poulson always is the auctioneer. (Names of signs are for example: shitty, horny, sexy, gassy, farty, sassy, etc. ) Gotta love it! My mom had "shitty" a couple years ago and they tried giving it to her and at her refusal she finally obtained "Snow White"! Whew! Then the bidding began. Now if I were a betting person, I would bet that most of the people at the reunion don't have large sums of money to throw around, but evidently one couple does cause every year they manage to buy a lot, at large prices, and drive the prices up so high that those who really, really, want something can't afford it. But, for the best part it is fun to watch, fun to listen to Kenny call out the names on the cards and state their bid along with some other pertinent (?) comments. Then back down the canyon, through Fools Creek, Lemmington, Nephi and home to Provo where I often wonder how I got to where I am from where I came. A reunion is a good place to do a self evaluation and decide what you have isn't so bad, or that where you came from are some pretty good "down home" people, or wonder if you might be adopted! All in all, I'm really glad I went, plan to go again, and am glad to have some Fullmer in my blood!

UPDATE on Family

My how time has flown by. In another week and the last of the five babies will turn two! They are pretty much starting the terribly two's - some more so than others, but if you want my very unbiased opinion, there is not a "terrible" thing about any one of them. Yes, Ava says NO too much, and cuts up the dresses her mom and I work hard at sewing, but she is just "helping". And a child should learn to help. Sammy and Austin can throw a fit that brings tears of laughter to my eyes, but they are really showing athleticism, rolling, jumping, tossing, turning, circling arms. Exercise is good for children. Mya can run like the wind and get into anything before you can catch her, but I see future track possibilities there and she's learning to follow in her mothers footsteps - that's good! Addy is the oldest and likes to eat - pretty much anything, and is so smart and adorable she can trick me into whatever she wants.
Kynra turned 12 and is going to Young Women now. (She's a head taller than Payton, but weighs less - SKINNY!) She is kind, and still sweet, plays on softball teams, reads tons, and is growing up way too fast. Payton, is smart and happy (and there was a time we thought she'd never be happy). She is busy and loves playing school - but of course must be the teacher.
Kelsey is playing softball now too, and shows some real desire towards it. She's a bit of an enigma, and keeps us smiling and a bit baffled!
Jackson is playing basketball and baseball and dominating in both. He's tall and handsome and so very smart. Loves to read and likes to call Gram and talk about the books we've both read! (I love it).
Dallin - well, what can I say. He got glasses not too long ago and can now see things that make his mother feel guilty for now noticing before. He struck out 3 times in his last baseball game and told his mom it was all the umpires fault and did they think they were playing golf? Gotta love it! Dallin also runs like the wind! His nickname is "Dash".
Macie is tall and skinny and busy, busy, busy! She laughs and cries in the same breath - so full of life and emotion! Loves to dress up and loves to call and talk to Gram. We miss each other and I need to go to Idaho Falls more!
Taiia's hair is still growing faster than her mom can keep up with it. She has enough for all the babies combined to share. She loves playing with stuffed animals and likes to wake up before the rest of her family and come to Grandma's room to snug and watch cartoons before I go to work.
That's the update on all the Grandkids, which is the most important thing to report, and now the kids.
DG is on the run - always. His team at SLCC had a great baseball year taking 3rd. His cousin Alex played for him this year and that was so fun to have family around even more. (Kelsey has a crush on Alex). He refereed a lot of college basketball and loves it. Jodi is a nurse and works at Primary Children's hospital 2 nights a week in the head trauma unit, then chases the girls around the rest of her time.
Kimberlee is working 2 jobs. Skywest and at a tennis club, which is her dear love, so she can fly to watch tennis wherever she wants - and she does. Alyn is working for a couple hotels and finally has some nights off. He's worked graveyards forever and now has some day shifts.
John and Mattie still love Idaho Falls, although it bothered Mattie that Jaxon is learning "Idaho state history" instead of Utah's. John works long hours doing his physical therapy and they are both just beginning the run, run, run life with the kids games.
Breck is still the Branch manager at Mountain America Credit Union in Saratoga Springs, and Matt is Mr. Mom with Austin while he continues his education.
Kamron will graduate from UVU this summer with his degree in Aeronautics and hopes to get on there as a pilot instructor to continue to build flight hours. Keisha is just plain busy. Cooking, making cakes for birthdays, sewing, doing everyone's hair and mostly cleaning up after Ava.
Mac is currently in Queen Creek Arizona at the ATP flight training school. He will finish mid July with his pilots training and hopes to stay on with them as an instructor as well, to continue building his flight hours. Megan has her hands full with Addy and Zoee and dad not around. We just returned from a trip to Arizona to spend some time with Mac before he heads out on his cross country month long trip. It was a fun trip and so good for them to all be together for a brief while.
I'm still working at BYU, and Relief Society keeps me hopping. I do a lot of piece quilting and am anxious to spend time in the flower gardens if this Utah weather ever cooperates.
Well, there is my update. I'll try now to tell it as it comes!
POSTED BY ZEFFIE AT 1:10 PM 0 COMMENTS
MONDAY, MAY 10, 2010

Finally - I'm updating May 10, 2010
Wow, it's May of 2010 and I haven't updated anything this whole year! It's time and I'm ready to roll again. Lot's of new things - New grandchild, Zoee Malline Nelson born to Mac & Megan Nov. 6, 2009. She's adorable. I'll be adding things soon!
POSTED BY ZEFFIE AT 10:10 AM 0 COMMENTS
Home
Subscribe to: Posts (Atom)
FOLLOWERS

End of Summer Reunions - whew!

Well, summer is pretty much over and it has been busy! There was the Sheriff Reunion at Palisade Camp Ground, with golfing, fishing, paddle boat races and a lot of fun. Then the Nelson Reunion at Crystal Springs with swimming, outside movies with popcorn, slip n sliding for kids with shaving cream and a lot of great food at both! It was my 40th class reunion this past weekend and there were a lot of really old people there - except me of course. It was all pretty fun to catch up with old friends and hear what they've done with their lives.... until they showed the slide of all those who had passed away - a lot of wonderful people, Dave included. That pretty much ended the fun for me. Now it's time for football season to begin and running the play clock, and basketball has begun so that will start soon as well. I just never catch a break! But all is good. Family is well and happy so who could ask for me.

It's Christmas

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8sqLJ3dVdBw/SUacrw9wsUI/AAAAAAAAADc/ZD1b6zRUWg4/s400/P1000854.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5280079888830738754" />

Well, we had all the family home for a couple of Christmas parties Saturday and Sunday. They traveled through blizzards from Idaho Falls and Orem to Centerville for the annual Sheriff family Christmas party. We are wearing our sweet Santa right out with all the new babies on his lap. The Sheriff's have had 11 babies in the last year and a half! Whew! After our annual homemade chicken noodle soup, grandma Sheriff's rolls, fudge and cake, we all headed back to Orem. Sunday I had all my children and grandchildren home for a fun little party with dinner (Ham, rolls, funeral potatoes, pumpkin cake, carmel popcorn etc....) then games and pictures. (Addie is now mobile!) The aunts helped me do a treasure hunt for all the grandchildren which they had a great time with, finally finding some gifts in the bath tub! It was so good to have them all home together, and I love that they all enjoy being around each other so much! (Now this week I will be off to the Arizona State basketball game with the team, and Mac, Megan and John will go to Vegas to the football bowl game) Let more fun begin. Merry Christmas to all!

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_8sqLJ3dVdBw/SR2f4afWmII/AAAAAAAAACs/-xWPp77zRIk/s320/P1000833.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5268542930625665154" />

Happy Halloween! It was the best ever. I was the Biker chickadee with all 12 of my grandchildren. We went all around my neighborhood (Wow do my neighbors go to bed early!) and I had a blast! Taiia had a hard time keeping up in her Snow White shoes, but Macie ran with the "big kids", she was a peppy cheerleader after all! Keisha had been sewing for weeks to make all 4 babes a tutu and head band bow, or whatever they call those corsages on their heads! They were so cute. It's not often I get all the kids together including my Idaho kids! So glad you came down Mattie.
Payton was baptized the next day! My 3rd grandchild to become a member of the LDS church! I am such a grateful grandmother! Grandma Nelson hosted it this year which meant (we did it all). Right Leslie, Lori, Kris, Kelly, Sherlene??? Even though Leslie told everyone she did it all... (she was pretty convincing), Kris and Kelly really did. It was so wonderful. We were at a lodge in Eden, UT by Pine View Reservoir. It was beautiful there inside and out. There were beds for 24 people and those of us who did all the work slept on the couches in the movie room - oh yea, and Leslie got a bed --- hmmmm. The 5 daughters/daughter-in-laws to Grandma Bowen were all in fine form as usual, (Kathalee Nelson, Ruth Bowen (LaVar), Ruth Bowen (Bob), Helen Harris and Diane Bowen). What a great lecacy these ladies are leaving and it won't be easy to keep it up! There were 30 of us in all and 25 most of the time. We celebrated what would have been grandma Bowen's 109th birthday on 10/10/08, and cooked her recipes, shared memorabilia (Kelly put together a slide show), ate, laughed, ate, cooked, laughed and had a wonderful time. Have I mentioned that I love my Nelson family sisters! They don't get better than these people! We went to the dinner/theatre Witches of Palooza, or something like that. Had I only known what I was in for I certainly would have found a witches hat to wear. Those who did know dressed in black and orange and some wore witches hats. The dinner was served by witches who sang and entertained. There was a sort-of musical play during dinner with a band of witches and warlocks that played and sang and included the audience. I'm quite certain that John White would have been involved if his hip wasn't in need of a replacement in the very near future. RaeAnn White didn't make it but all the rest of us were there in fine form. Good food, good friends and good entertainment - can't ask for better than that! I'm thinking I should grab a few grandchildren and go for a witches wagon ride Friday night! I took a couple pictures that I'll try to add later!

Conference Oct 3,4

Had a great weekend. Mac and Megan and I went to Idaho Falls and watched Dallin and Jaxon play flag football. Boy can Dallin block a kid, and block, and push back and keep blocking! Go Dallin. Boy can Jaxon pass and play smart! So fun to see them and visit with the Weatherly's. Mya is sooooo cute and has deep set blue eyes with black lashes and black hair (coming). Sweet, happy babe. And Macie, well, she is still adorable and full of energy and tricks. Conference was wonderful as always and Mattie made Mac's favorites on Sunday, merinated chicken, rolls and twice baked potatoes! The trip was fast and furious, but so great to see Mac and how well he is doing. He has been having a great experience there and is pitching well. The season is nearly over and he'll be home soon - Megan and Addie miss him, imagine that! While there I took a lot of pictures of the 30 million $ stadium, but my truly favorite part was the drive from Philly to Lancaster. I ended up taking roads through small towns, seeing Amish farms, horses plowing fields, produce stands filled beautifully with pumpkins, flowers and all sorts of vegetables. The corn fields were cut in winding rows and there would be a single row left in the middle of a field. It had the look of an artists work - really. The small towns had cemeteries as you entered filled with large headstones angling in nearly diagonal rows leaning up and down small hills. In the center of town was a roundabout with bronze statues of civil war heros and the prison was in town as well - shaped like an old castle type fortress. It was plush green everywhere you looked, clean and well cared for nearly everywhere. Then...... the ballpark and games were fun. I loved the visit, the sites and boy did I love the East! New Jersey is gorgeous as well. I got lost one time and ended up finding Rutgers University and a large canal flowing near the university with a team of guys rowing! That was a good mistake. Enjoy the pictures!

Travel in July

Mya Weatherly - gets chubbiest new babe Award!

So big plans were made for July to ride the Amtrac to Denver with my parents, brothers and sisters - this did not happen. My dad, Olen Sheriff, has been in the hospital for almost 5 weeks now after having emergency surgery and removing a foot of his large intestine. Possibly diverticulitis - however you spell that! He has been very sick, but is finally looking to a release date, possible in a day or two. Let's hope.

So instead, I have traveled back and forth to the LDS hospital in SLC. I flew to St. George one night to watch Mac pitch for the Roadrunners - he did really well. JaRene and Mark and I took a couple of days and went to Bear Lake then Deer Valley, then back to the hospital. Then Breck and I took a couple days and went to Idaho Falls to visit Mattie and John, Jaxon, Dallin, Macie and Mya. Then back to the hospital. Finally, I drove to Lake Powell and met DG, Jodi, Kynra, Payton, Kelsey, Sammy and all the Hawkins clan for a couple days, then home. I'm back to work now -- and I'm not really loving that!

I one thing I can say is that I've seen all the kids now and can report that everyone is doing well. All five babies are beautiful and happy, some fussier than others but nontheless adorable! My other 7 grandchildren are wonderful, beautiful and a lot of fun. My 6 children and their spouses, well that is irrelevant (tee/hee) because all 12 of the people who let me hug them lots and kiss their cheeks a lot are all doing great!

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_8sqLJ3dVdBw/SH5e8_B_InI/AAAAAAAAAAg/8jWgDdwhsrY/s200/P1000532.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5223717019601281650" />

All 5 babies

What a fun 4th of July! The whole family (but Mac) gathered around for food and fun. Then we all trekked down to BYU to the stadium of fire. The little girls had a ball singing and dancing with Miley Cyrus, the boys loved the Blue Man group and the new babies pretty much disliked it all. Luckily Grandma arranged to take the babies up to the media loge' during the fireworks and we watched them behind the windows with a lot less noise! That was actually the best seat in the house and the fireworks were about our same height. Aunt Kris and Bailey came along and enjoyed celebrating Mattie's 31st birthday with us all. The greatest part of the day was the pictures with grandma - finally all 5 babies together. Got to love that!

The Big Picture

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_8sqLJ3dVdBw/SGvB5LACUaI/AAAAAAAAAAU/TURdVS8rilM/s200/CIMG0088.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5218477781188497826" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_8sqLJ3dVdBw/SGvBFtsfquI/AAAAAAAAAAM/F13tCr_Rn8w/s320/P1000314.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5218476897148578530" />
Life with the Nelson family is busy and fun. We had 5 new arrivals in 3 months, 4 girls and finally 1 boy. My total is now up to 12. I've heard the saying before that if we'd known how great grandkids were we'd have skipped over the kids and gone right to the grandkids. Well, I really do like my kids - but I really, really like my grandchildren! This picture was taken over Memorial Day with the first four girls, Austin arrived 6 1/2 weeks early on June 4th and finally came home this week, on June 30th. He's so adorable and worth waiting to hold, since he snuggled with me the last couple nights! I've been busy sewing crib sets for the babies and blankets. I've had to throw in some time to make my block of the month quilts too! I just finished the last block for a really fun Spring wall hanging quilt - finally! Mac signed a professional baseball contract last week with the St. George Roadrunners, pitched and won his first game, pitched and got a no decision after 7 innings his second game - and I'm planning to hit the road and watch his home games when possible. But for now all the grandchildren (and some parents) are coming for July 4th to the Stadium of Fire and Hanna Montana, barbeque, swimming, maybe the parade and celebrate Mattie's birthday. Whew, I'd better go and get cooking!
